Buddhanussati [Perenungan Terhadap Buddha]

Buddhanussati




Iti pi so bhagava: araham, sammasambuddho,
vijjācaraṇa sampanno, sugato, lokavidū,
anuttaro purisadammasarathi,
sattha devamanussanam, buddho, bhagava’ti.


Demikianlah Bhagava, yang maha suci, yang telah mencapai penerangan sempurna,
Sempurna kebijaksanaan serta keluhuranNya,
Yang telah merealisasikan nirvana,
Yang mengenal dan memahami semesta alam,
Pembimbing manusia yang tiada taranya***,
Guru pada makhluk surgawi dengan manusianya,
Ia lah Yang Tercerahkan [Buddha], Yang Agung nan Luhur.

Namo tassa Sammasambuddhassa

Hormatku kepada Yang Tercerahkan nan sempurna kebijaksanaannya.

Ye ca buddha atita ca—ye ca buddha anagata
Paccuppanna ca ye buddha—aham vandami sabbada

Kepada Buddha dimasa lampau,
Kepada Buddha dimasa mendatang,
Kepada Buddha pada masa ini,
Aku memujikan Engkau [yang Maha Bijaksana] selamanya.

Natthi me saranam aññam—buddho me saranam varam
Etena saccavajjena—hotu me jayamangalam

Tiada perlindungan lainnya bagiku,
Buddha-lah pelindungku yang sejati,
Dengan ungkapan kebenaran ini,
Biarlah kemenangan [melawan kebatilan] kuperoleh

Uttamangena vande’ham—pada-pamsu varuttamam
Buddhe yo khalito doso—buddho khamatu tam mamam
Aku dengan kepala ku sendiri
Menghormat diatas kaki Sang Buddha,
Jika terdapat kesalahan kesalahan,
Semoga Buddha mengampuni kesalahan saya.

Buddham jivitapariyantam saranam gacchami
Sampai selamanya, aku berlindung kepada Buddha.




‘इतिपि सो भगवा अरहं सम्मासम्बुद्धो
विज्जाचरणसम्पन्नो सुगतो लोकविदू
अनुत्तरो पुरिसदम्मसारथि,
सत्था देवमनुस्सानं बुद्धो भगवा’ति।

Words Explication

Iti :thus 【如此】DEMIKIANLAH
[used to point out something just mentioned or about to be mentioned,
and to show that a sentence is finished].
Very often its former i is elided and ti only is remaining.

Bhagavant – Bhagava:
Exalted One, Venerable, Lord 【崇高的人,值得被尊重的人,有正義的人,賢達之士,賢良之士,賢士,如來】

Arahant = pure and holy person 【聖賢人,阿羅漢】
ORANG SUCI
[adj.-n.] [Vedic arhant,ppr.of arhati (see arahati),meaning deserving,worthy].
A venerable person,a holy man,a saint; one who has attained final sanctification,an arhat
Before Buddhism used as honorific title of high officials like the English “His Worship” ; at the rise of Buddhism applied popularly to all ascetics (Dial.III,3--6).Adopted by the Buddhisṭs as t.t.for one who has attained the Summum Bonum of religious aspiration (Nibbāna).
阿羅漢,又作阿羅訶,略稱羅漢。意譯應、應供(值得供養者)、應真、殺賊、無學(asekha)、真人(sappurisa)。bhagavā arahaṁ sammāsambuddho(世尊 阿羅漢 正自覺者)。北傳有「六種阿羅漢」及「九種阿羅漢」之說不見於上座部佛教,其中如「退法(阿羅漢)」(parihāna-dhamma),遇惡緣便退失阿 羅漢果之說不能成立,依巴利阿毘達摩所說,在「阿羅漢道心」(見道位),永斷五上分結,已斷的五下分結與五上分結,永不再捲土重來。

Sammasambuddha:〔正自覺,〕靠自己完全覺悟的人,佛陀。

Vijjā + caraṇa + sampanna
[endowed with] special craft [wisdom] & virtue.

Vijja [adj] [=vijjā] having vijjā,
possessed of wisdom;【具有明智的人,很有智慧】
YANG BERPENGETAHUAN, CERDAS DAN BIJAKSANA.

Vijjā,having a varying content in its connotation,is applied to a series of diff.achievements.A rather old tabulation of the stages leading by degrees to the attainment of the highest knowledge is given in the Sāmañña-phala-sutta (D.I,63--86),repeated in nearly every Suttanta of D 1.It is composed of the 3 sampadās,viz.sīla°,citta° & paññā°.Under the first group belong sīla(--kkhandha),indriya-saṁvara,sati-sampajañña,santuṭṭhi; the second is composed (1) of the overcoming of the nīvaraṇas,(2) of the 4 jhānas; the third consists of 8 items,viz.(1) ñāṇa-dassana,(2) manomaya-kāya,(3) iddhi,(4) dibba-sota,(5) ceto-pariyañāṇa,(6) pubbe-nivās’ânussatiñāṇa,(7) cut’ûpapatti-ñāṇa,(8) āsavānaṁ khaya-ñāṇa.

Sugato – sugata
arrived at Nibbana,directed to good life
【本義:到達好的目的-世界; 達到涅槃】
YANG TELAH MENCAPAI NIRVANA.

[su+gata] faring well,happy,having a happy life after death
Gati,[lit.'going']:'course of existence',destiny,destination."There are 5 courses of existence:hell,animal kingdom,ghost realm,human world,heavenly world" (D.33; A.XI,68).Of these,the first 3 count as woeful courses (duggati,s.apāya),the latter 2 as happy courses (sugati).
sugata of happy,blessed existence,fortunate; one who has attained the realm of bliss (=sugatiṁ gata,see gati),blessed.As np.a common Ep.of the Buddha:Vin.I,35; III,1; D.I,49; S.I,192; A.II,147 et passim (see Sugata).-- D.I,83; Sn.227 (see expl.KhA 183).

Purisadammasārathi = man trainer
a coachman of the driving animal called man,a man-trainer

Purisadamma [m.] a person to be trained or converted
【purisa + damma + sārathi】
purisa:[m.] a man [human] 【人】 orang
damma:[adj.] tamed or trained. 【培養,被訓練的人】dijinakan, membimbing, diarahkan
sārathi:[m.] a charioteer; a coachman;leader or guider 【指導者;引導者;老師:輔導者】
For example: assadammasārathi a coachman by whom horses are driven,a trainer of horses。
PELATIH , PEMBIMBING, PENGARAH.【GURU PENJINAK YANG BIJAK】

So the meaning of "Purisadammasārathi" is
  1. human’s trainer, human’s guider / teacher;
  2. wise teacher who know 【have a skill and knowledge in …】 how to teach different kind of student [just like a coach [trainer] know how to taming pets or even wild animal]
    【人的教練師,明白知曉如何訓練教導各種不同門徒的聰慧導師
    [猶如一位有智慧的馴獸教練知道怎麼馴化野性兇猛的禽獸]】

    Seorang pelatih yang mahir, guru yang bijaksana
    Didalam membina, mengarahkan atau membimbing murid muridNya
    dengan beragam kondisinya masing masing.
    Seperti seorang pelatih yang menjinakkan hewan liar
    .
